This document is published by Ohana Tech LLC and governs the Victory Grids service and the Victory Grids SMS messaging program.

Victory Grids offers an optional SMS notification program so players and pool hosts can stay up to date on the Squares pools they participate in. This messaging program is operated by Ohana Tech LLC, doing business as Victory Grids, for the Victory Grids app and website at victorygrids.com.

How you opt in

Victory Grids uses a web-form opt-in workflow. A user opts in only by entering a mobile phone number on a Victory Grids form and checking the SMS consent checkbox shown next to that field, then submitting the form. The checkbox is unchecked by default and is never pre-selected.

  • Host account creation:a host enters an email, password, and mobile phone number on the Create Host Account page, ticks the SMS consent checkbox below the phone field, and clicks “Sign Up.”
  • Guest square claim: a guest opens a board, selects one or more squares, enters a mobile phone number in the Claim Squares dialog, ticks the SMS consent checkbox below the phone field, and submits the claim.
  • Profile phone update: an existing host or guest can add or update a mobile phone number from their Profile page. The SMS consent checkbox is shown with that phone-number field and must be ticked before saving in order to opt in.

Leaving the checkbox unticked does not prevent anyone from creating an account, joining a pool, or claiming squares — it only means we will not send that number any text messages. Consent is never a condition of participation, and we never send messages to a number that has not been affirmatively opted in.

See the opt-in checkbox

Below is the actual opt-in control from the Victory Grids sign-up and square-claim forms, rendered live on this page. It is the same component those forms use, shown here in its default state so its wording and its unchecked-by-default behavior can be verified without creating an account or opening a pool invite link.

Sample — this form does not submit

The Sign Up button stays enabled on the real form whether or not the box is ticked — consent is never required to create an account or claim squares. It is disabled here only because this sample does not submit.

Consent disclosure shown at opt-in

The label beside the opt-in checkbox states that, by ticking it, the user agrees to receive Victory Grids account and pool notification text messages, including board reminders, lock alerts, winner notifications, and messages from a pool host. It also states that consent is not a condition of participation, that message frequency varies, that message and data rates may apply, and that users can reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help, and it links to these SMS Terms and to the Privacy Policy.

Records of consent

When a user ticks the checkbox and submits the form, Ohana Tech LLC stores a consent record for that mobile number containing the date and time, which form captured the opt-in, and the exact consent language displayed at that moment. Withdrawals — replying STOP, or switching text messages off from the Profile screen — are recorded the same way. A number with no consent record on file is blocked from receiving messages at the system level, not merely filtered at send time.

What messages you'll receive

Once opted in, you may receive the following types of messages:

  • Board reminders
  • Board lock & go-live alerts
  • Winner notifications
  • Messages from your pool host

Example messages:

  • Victory Grids: Only 8 squares left on "Super Bowl Pool" and it locks in 24h. Claim yours: {link}. Reply STOP to opt out.
  • Victory Grids: Your grid on "Super Bowl Pool" is full and numbers are locked in! Good luck. Reply STOP to opt out.
  • Victory Grids: You won Q2 on "Super Bowl Pool"! Your square hit 7-3. Reply STOP to opt out.
  • Victory Grids: A message from your host on "Super Bowl Pool": Kickoff is at 6:30, grid locks at 6:00. Reply STOP to opt out.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies and depends on the pools you join and the games they follow — typically a few messages per game or event.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply. Victory Grids does not charge for the messages.

How to opt out or get help

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help.

After you reply STOP, you will receive one confirmation message and then no further texts unless you opt in again. Reply HELP at any time to receive contact information, or email us at support@victorygrids.com.
